acute appendicitis following laparoscopic hysterectomy

چکیده
abstract appendicitis after age 40 is unusual, and appendicitis two days after laparoscopic hysterectomy is very rare and has not been reported to date. we describe a 44-year-old woman who had abdominal pain two days after laparoscopic hysterectomy. the pathology report indicated early appendicitis and the pain disappeared after appendectomy. in our opinion, the cause of appendicitis may have been related to the use of monopolar and bipolar coagulation during laparoscopic hysterectomy, although the coincidence of appendicitis and laparoscopic surgery may be accidental.

Acute Appendicitis following Laparoscopic Live Donor Nephrectomy
Acute abdominal pain following laparoscopic live donor nephrectomy (LLDN) might be a diagnostic dilemma, and prompt diagnosis and management is of paramount importance. Herein, we describe a case of acute appendicitis in a 62-year-old kidney donor who presented with acute abdominal pain 16 days following LLDN with features inconsistent with a diagnosis of acute appendicitis. An ultrasound scan ...
متن کاملReflex Anuria Following Laparoscopic Hysterectomy
Introduction: Postoperative anuria strikes fear into the heart of gynaecologists; ureteric trauma or occlusion must be considered. If excluded non-mechanical causes must be sought. ‘Reflex anuria’ has been proposed as a rare cause. We present a case of anuria following laparoscopic hysterectomy and bilateral salpingooophorectomy (TLH + BSO) with a review of the literature regarding ‘reflex anur...

METHODS A 45-year-old woman presented with...
متن کاملSeptic Pelvic Thrombophlebitis Following Laparoscopic Hysterectomy
BACKGROUND The diagnosis of septic pelvic thrombophlebitis is frequently one of exclusion; a suspicion should arise when fever fails to respond to standard broad-spectrum antibiotic therapy and defervesces within 48 hours of the addition of systemic anticoagulation. The risk of a thromboembolic event following minimally invasive surgery is not well defined. CASE REPORT We report the first cas...
